Mercedes Benz Miami Swim Week 2014 has come to a close and we’ve selected some of our favorite looks. From Mara Hoffman’s mysticism of India inspiration to the 70’s glam vibe at Wildfox Swim, there was a large range of influences and trends across the shows. We noticed three major trends that were prevalent among the swim designers.
1. One-pieces
Its seems that the one-piece has become a very popular alternative to the bikini. The Mara Hoffman show included an elephant tribal printed version, Beach Riot opened their show with an embellished hot pink design, Minimale Animale showed a Hawaiian print mesh suit, and the Wildfox Swim included a fruit printed one-piece with a plunging neckline.
2. Sporty
A sporty influence also seems to be getting more prevalent, especially at in Beach Riot and Suboo with their wet-suit inspired bikinis.
3. High Waisted Bottoms
This retro inspired style seems to be here to stay, as seen at Mara Hoffman’s tribal design two piece, Suboo’s sporty cut-out design, and Nicolita’s polka dot bikini.
We definitely can’t wait to get our hands on some of these suits in 2014!
