It may be the season of hot coco and pumpkin pie, but as any West Coast girl knows, bikini season never ends here. When we saw the ultra modern and undeniably sexy designs of Tyler Rose Swimwear on StyleSpotter, coming in from stores like Shopbop and Revolve Clothing, we had to know more about this irreverent brand. It’s no surprise that this Newport swimwear line is a Sports Illustrated staple, and a favorite of international top models and professional surfers.  Your bio says that you like to call your office space your “Bikini Cave” where you draw inspirations for Tyler Rose Swimwear. What has been the biggest source of inspiration coming out of the Bikini cave this year? My biggest source of inspiration has always been and will always be music. We have music playing at all times in the Bikini Cave. Artists like Disclosure and Flume inspired me to create line that was full of energy that felt progressive.

We know you draw a lot of inspiration from music, rock music in particular. Who are some of your favorite artists? Led Zeppelin is an all time favorite but I love listening to all kids of music. Reggae, pop, old school hip-hop and EDM bring out different sides to me too!

We love the drawstring details and cutouts from the Sun Scene 14′ collection, especially on the Cisco one-piece. What would you say are your favorite pieces from this line and how would you style them? My favorite bikini has to be the Brock and Chaz suit. It’s the perfect color and spaghetti detail on the back that turns heads. I’d style this bikini with denim cut off shorts and a tank with a low back!

Tyler Rose Swimwear has been featured in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition 5 years in a row! What makes your pieces stand out from other swimsuit brands? I’d like to think I have the ability to spin straw into gold. I love using my creativity by taking suits from the line and adding a one of a kind trim or adding detail to make them stand out.

Your swimwear has been seen on fashion industry favorites like Gisele Bundchen and Kate Upton. What has been the most exciting star moment for Tyler Rose Swimwear? Anastasia Ashley has been one of our favorites this past year! Seeing TRS on a professional surfer and total beach babe that has been featured in Sport Illustrated and has a huge social following definitely helped our brand reach a broader market.

Living in southern California where bikini season never seems to end, how do you keep your body looking fabulous through the holidays? Its easy to get into hibernation mode when the weather changes so it’s important to keep your summer routine going. Whether it’s hitting spin and yoga weekly or eating clean, making habits of those summer programs are key.

What’s the most surprising thing about you that most people don’t know? People say I have amazing intuition. I can feel when a good thing is coming especially for the close people in my life. It freaks them out.

Your strong sense of intuition is probably part of the reason you’re able to stay on the pulse of swimwear trends. What would you say is a swimwear trend that will be transitioning from this year into 2015? A big swimwear trend for the next year is sporty fits: Bikinis that stay on and support while looking sexy. Lace up details are a stand out trend as well. I’ve always been big on reversible bikinis, getting two looks for the price of one is something our TRS girl and her tan lines appreciate!

What exciting new things can we expect to see from TRS? Expect designs for the girl with an inner tomboy that wants to be sexy while keeping up with the boys. I’ve put a feminine twist on athletic fits that can go from touch football on the beach to poolside effortlessly.
