With a new season comes a new calling from the wishful and ever so slightly ready to scream fashion hungry women of Melbourne. These women are tired of watching the rest of the world live it up in the best of warm weathered fashion capitals. Melbourne certainly ensured to bring fashion back to life, with all the might of a New Yorker in battle for the last morning paper, and the class of a Londoner meeting the Queen. Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) kicked off with a bang, hosting a glorious opening night, spread across the connecting fashion meccas of the Central Business District (CBD). DJ’s were on every corner, beauty giveaways on every turn, and store parties blossoming with the fashion savvy’s of the city with overflowing endless flutes of sparkling goodness in hand. Setting out to capture the best street style gracing the week, I found that everyone was more than ready to debut the best of their spring wardrobes. I found that the title ‘fashion blogger’ has some sort of synonymous royalty in the eyes of fashion lovers, which allowed me to snap some of the best styles of the event. I was also lucky enough to capture the style of MSFW Ambassador, Ashley Hart, wearing a beautifully cut spring green dress (shown below). Subtle prints and intriguing cuts were definitely the biggest common trend of the event. I have to say that MSFW has definitely set itself and the rest of the world’s fashion capitals to a high standard, and a standard of which I am excited to see topped.
Ashley Hart: MSFW Ambassador, and model, looked like a classic resort-inspired goddess. Wearing a bright green print cut out skater dress with a mustard yellow heel.
Sporty looks and unexpected layering was spotted on fashion influencers before entering the show. Socks with Birkenstocks, an interesting bra underneath a simple tank, and a quilted metallic jacket really make this look stand out.
Bold print two-piece sets were seen at the fashion week after parties. Styled with geometric accessories and a neutral shoe.
Cobalt blue was a stand out color trend seen on the streets of Melbourne this week. These unexpected leather pants styled with this sweater prove that textile play is very apparent for this season.
