Last fall we saw so many people begin wearing collarless faux fur coats. From Olivia Chung to Poppy Delevingne, it seemed like every it girl had one. The brand Shrimps became wildly popular and faux fur coats even briefly appeared in the fast fashion stores. However, the trend stayed small as not many people adapted it into their styles – mostly only those in the know and the incredibly stylishly inclined acquired one. Still, as the Fall 2015 fashion weeks played out, we saw faux fur on the runway, like at Stella McCartney’s show in March.
Even though the trend never quite gained momentum in 2014, given its presence on the runway and being named the ‘it girl coat’ of the moment, it is almost certain the faux fur coat will return for fall 2015. As of yet, there is not a vast array of options, but once the summer sales are over and brands stock their fall lines, this is a trend we will definitely be seeing a lot of.
