THE 5 MINUTE UP-DO FOR BUSY MORNINGS

We all have those nights where 1 happy hour cocktail leads to 4 (or you get sucked into a Real Housewives marathon) and you wake up about 30 seconds before you need to leave for work. Washing and blowing out your hair can be the most time consuming part of the morning, so skip the wash and try this 5 minute up-do. You’ll show up for work looking so polished and poised you’ll have everyone in the office totally fooled.

STEP 1

Use a rat tail comb to section your hair into 3 parts. The 2 front pieces will be about an inch and a half wide including your bangs (if you have them).

STEP 2

Grab the middle section of the hair that you’ve separated, and pull it back into a low pony tail. To add natural volume without teasing, tighten the pony tail to your head, and pull up carefully on the middle top pieces of your hair on top of your head.

STEP 3

From here, wrap your pony tail around into a low bun as you pin down your hair with bobby pins. If you have them, the miracle spin pins work great on low buns. You twist them in on each side of your bun making an X which holds the hair securely in place.

STEP 4

Section out your bangs, and/or smaller front layers from the two remaining pieces of hair. Take the rest of the front sections (not including your bangs) and twist them back on each side. Once you’ve twisted them back, wrap the remaining ends of your hair around the outside of your bun while pinning it down securely with bobby pins.

STEP 5

Your final step is to take your bangs and the front layers of your hair that you left out, spray them with heat protected spray, and curl them with a 1 or 1 1/2 inch curling iron depending on the thickness of your hair. Hair spray your entire head, and voila! Your 5 minute up-do is complete!
